Vote For Rory!!

The National Hockey League has a fun little system (actually, it's ridiculous) for the selection of the mid-season All Star Game where fans get to vote in their favourite players. The only problem is people actually have enough time on their hands to make a debocale of this system, specifically through online voting.

Much like the troubles that internet advertising agencies are now experiencing due to 'click fraud', underachieving NHL players are being given the same opportunity to participate in the in this game: If they have a cult like following willing to commit themselves to hours of mouse clicking.

So this has all the makings of a fun little joke to be played on the NHL and a certain fringe player. The target of this hilarious scam is Vancouver Canucks defencemen Rory Fitzpatrick . A couple random guys, with a Rory fetish, started the website www.voteforrory.com, unbenounced to them the impact this would have.

If the ballots were tabulated today, Rory would be voted into the game, playing for the Western Conference.

The comedy in this is that our beloved Rory is a God-aweful d-man, barely cracking the lineup on a good night. Don't get me wrong, to play in the NHL you're obviously insanely good, but insanely good for Rory will not cut it at an allstar game. The dreaded "Fitzpatrick-Lidstrom" combination? Its too funny to even consider, and surely Rory would be totally embarassed to actually get voted in.

Anyways, the poor guy is the brunt of an internet joke that may come to fruition. I think I'm going to nominate myself for some sort of American election, they're not too quick either when it comes to tabulating votes.

I'm just stoked to see if he'll actually go. Would you? Regardless, *VOTE* away!!!!!
